A performance-installation centred on the incident of a couple finding a bible in a hotel room. This event triggers a series of intimate memories and conversations between a former believer, a non-believer, and random guests from the audience. The scene will be followed by a hidden camera installed in a corner of the hotel room - or simply by peeping through a window.

Hotel Bibles
By Abi Weaver & Nahum Mantra
Date: 7th - 10th January, Shunt

Using field recordings made in the underground rooms and passages of the Shunt Vaults, The Sound Through Artists will build a series of composition to set base for a long jam session spanning 4 days.

This residency aims to respond to the architectural features of Shunt, interpreting the space through improvisation and sound manipulation.

From the 14th to the 16th, different ensembles of composers/performers will converse in response to one another through analogical, recorded, processed sound, and live instrumentation inside an intimate space adjoining Shunt's main corridor. The performers will also move beyond this space extending the sonic boundaries of the work. On the evening of the 17th, all the performers involved will come together for a final show. This final act is not intended to be read as a conclusion to the music and sound created during this residency, rather it will act as homage to the continuous composition this specific underground realm has inspired.
